Academy Overview

The Digital Graphix Academy is a three-year Information Technology career and professional academy. The Academy offers Industry Certifications in Adobe products such as: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Illustrator. Students choose a specific career pathway such as Promotional Graphics, Web Designer, TV Broadcast or Broadband Services Installers. Articulation, dual enrollment, and business/education partnerships are emphasized.

Benefits

The Digital Publishing course is designed for the student who wants an in-depth experience in the production of a media publication. The advanced study and application of photo composition skills, page layout and design skills, headline and caption writing skills, and advertising skills are emphasized. These courses are designed to provide students the opportunity to work with advanced technology, strengthen their analytical and problem-solving skills, improve their communication skills, and manage responsibility.

Students receive guided instruction in the fundamentals of journalistic writing, photojournalism, graphic design, budget management, and organizational skills necessary to produce the yearbook and various other publications. Students also develop their abilities to work as a team.Class

Students will use Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop to design and produce the various publications throughout the year. The aim of the class is for students to be responsible for every aspect of production. Opportunities will be given to gain Adobe Industry Certification.

The Auburndale Digital Graphix Academy is a four-year Information Technology career and professional academy. The Academy offers Industry Certifications in Adobe products such as: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premier Pro. The Digital Information Technology course is the foundation for any of the following pathways offering Industry Certifications in Microsoft Office products such as: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access, and OneNote. GiffStudents choose a specific career pathway such as Promotional Graphics, Digital Design, or TV Broadcast. Articulation agreements, dual enrollment, and business/education partnerships are emphasized, giving each student opportunities to advance directly into the workforce with job-ready credentials and experience.

DECA Club

Students in Sports Marketing are strongly encouraged to join the DECA club. DECA is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. The organization prepares leaders and entrepreneurs for careers and education in marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and other business areas.
